preserving the nation's fairytales and folklore through film | ||||
Cherry was shot in 2007 and the fairies must have been with us because it was the only dry, sunny week in that famously wet and stormy summer! It was an incredibly magical week full of friendship, good food and creative fire. We brought together young people from the Dartmoor village of Chagford with the mid-Devon town of Tiverton forging links which remain to this day. A little team of three of the teenagers filmed and edited their own behind-the-scenes movie which is also on the DVD. The story of Cherry of Zennor comes from Cornwall. It is a strange and haunting tale and because the summer had been so wet, the landscapes in the film are uniquely lush and beautiful. |
